5 Days Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife | Mbarara Tours

5 Days Willdife, Gorilla & Lake Bunyonyi Safari gets you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in South western Uganda, one of the best destinations for a wildlife experience in Uganda. The Queen Elizanbeth is famous for the tree climbing lions, the boat safari along Kazinga Channel, the Chimpanzee at Kalinzu Forest as well as Kyambura Gorge, the twin lakes, a variety of wildlife ranging from Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hippos among other surprises.

Itinerary.

Day 1: We depart Mbarara at 7.30 am and drive appx, 5 hours to Bwindi. As you enjoy the scenic drive you have the right to stop the vehicle at which ever point to take pictures. We arrive at the Mweya Safari Lodge in time for Lunch and rest.  In the afternoon, we embark on a boat safari along Kazinga Channel where we expect to see lots of wildlife along the shores including Hippos, Elephants, Buffaloes, water bucks and lots of birdlife. After the boat safari, we return to the lodge for rest and Dinner.

Day 2: Start the day with an early cup tea/coffee before embarking on a game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail. On this trail you will see elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs plus warthogs in addition to several birds. Return for breakfast and after depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The drive takes us approximately 2-3 hours. We arrive at the Buhoma Lodge take some rest. Depending on our energy levels, we can have a one hour community walk within Buhoma to familiarize with the locals and later Dine at your place of accommodation and relax the rest of the evening as you prepare for a thrilling experience of Mountain Gorilla Tracking the following day, the reality is that  tonight you actually are sleeping within an African Rainforest which is habitat to half the population of endangered Mountain Gorillas world.

Day 3: After an early  breakfast, head to the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for an orientation plus meeting the guides as well as separation into the groups basing on which gorilla group you are to be tracking .

From there you will set off for your thrill experience of the Gorillas in the Mist. During the hike you experience more wildlife including additional primates, butterflies, mammals and birds, will certainly be very beautiful and really enhance this extremely special experience.

The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their every day routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming.  After that return to the park headquarters and meet up with your guide, and head back to the Lodge. This evening is reserved for rest. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge.

Day 4: After a hearty breakfast, we depart for the Lake Bunyonyi Islands in Kabale. The Bunyonyi islands are the best place for total relaxation after a hectic safari schedule. The amazing sceneries as shown in the picture above are filled with peace and tranquility. U can enjoy a dug out a canoe ride or just sit at the deck as you watch the sun set over the kigezi hills. Dinner and Overnight at Arcadia cottages.

Day 5: We shall enjoy an early morning breakfast, and then prepare for our journey back to Mbarara or Entebbe.

Price.
We charge $1,100 for the 4×4 car, Driver, Fuel, park entrance fees for the car and driver inclusive covering the 5 days.

The park fees for the guest is $40 per day , whereas the boat safari is $30 per day. The game ranger costs $20 incase you need one. ( These are exclusive costs).

The Buhoma lodge ranges from $550 per night on Full board, whereas the Mweya Safari Lodge from $ 390 per night on Full board.
