The Queen Elizabeth National Park in South western Uganda is one of the best destinations for a wildlife experience in Uganda.
The Queen Elizanbeth is famous for the tree climbing lions, the boat safari along Kazinga Channel, the Chimpanzee at Kalinzu Forest as well as Kyambura Gorge, the twin lakes, a variety of wildlife ranging from Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hippos among other surprises.
Itinerary.
Day 1: We depart Mbarara at 7.30 am and drive appx, 5 hours to Bwindi. As you enjoy the scenic drive you have the right to stop the vehicle at which ever point to take pictures. We arrive at the Buhoma Lodge in time for Lunch and rest. In the evening, we have a one hour community walk within Buhoma to familiarize with the locals and later Dine at your place of accommodation and relax the rest of the evening as you prepare for a thrilling experience of Mountain Gorilla Tracking the following day, the reality is that tonight you actually are sleeping within an African Rainforest which is habitat to half the population of endangered Mountain Gorillas world.
Day 2: After an early breakfast, head to the Headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for an orientation plus meeting the guides as well as separation into the groups basing on which gorilla group you are to be tracking .
From there you will set off for your thrill experience of the Gorillas in the Mist. During the hike you experience more wildlife including additional primates, butterflies, mammals and birds, will certainly be very beautiful and really enhance this extremely special experience.
The tracking / trekking can entail some thorough climbing as well as hiking although when you come face to face with the tranquil yet potent Mountain Gorillas, watching them only a few meters away from you observing the group, the baby with the mothers, the gorillas partaking their every day routine just right in front of you is all very overwhelming. After that return to the park headquarters and meet up with your guide, and depart for Queen Elizabeth National park. The drive should take us between 3-4 hours. On arrival check in at Mweya Safari Lodge. Depending on the time we arrive, if it’s still early we can embark on a brief game drive along channel track, where we hope to spot some Elephants or Leopards if we are lucky. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Start the day with an early cup tea/coffee before embarking on a game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail. On this trail you will see elephants, water bucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs plus warthogs in addition to several birds. Return for breakfast plus lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, kobs plus warthogs among others. This ride will also enable you to see an array of birds. We then immediately proceed for another game drive along Channel Track. Dine and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge . Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Day 4: We shall have an early breakfast at 5 am and thereafter immediately depart for Entebbe to catch our flight back home. Expected time of arrival should be 1pm.
Price.
We charge $800 for the 4×4 car, Driver, Fuel, park entrance fees for the car and driver inclusive covering the 4 days.
The park fees for the guest is $40 per day , whereas the boat safari is $30 per day. The game ranger costs $20 incase you need one. ( These are exclusive costs).
The Buhoma lodge ranges from $550 per night on Full board, whereas the Mweya Safari Lodge from $ 390 per night on Full board.
